Literally the day I was getting ready to do just that, I was in a discord chat with friends, playing with the audio settings again hoping one last time would save me hours of misery, and no dice on the sensitivity or output settings, but then something magical happened.įor some reason, I decided to click the "Input Device" drop down menu which was set as "Astro A50 Gaming headset." (This changed automatically when I swapped out the Corsairs for the Astro, obviously, it used to read "Corsair HS60").

I went out and bought a brand new set of Astro A50 wireless thinking maybe it was the 3.5MM jack on the Corsairs and going usb (base) directly to motherboard would fix it, same problem, still! The only other thing I could think to do was wipe Windows 10 and re-install.

Reverted all my custom settings, deleted and re-installed all audio drivers etc, nothing.I then started to blame the corsairs. I then figured it MUST be a firmware issue. Screwed with every audio setting in every program that I could find, played with all the sensitivity in/out, input/output volumes, microphone boost, noise cancellation, absolutely everything. I ignored it for a while, but I started getting complaints more and more often. Every so often a friend would freak out that all they could hear in their game was the echo from mine. Sound was good, comfort was amazing, but I kept having one problem. Just wanted to share a little experience with a problem that has been plauging me for over a year.įor a while now I've been using a Corsair HS60 headset. Tournament or Streaming noise gate preset will not pick-up your keystrokes noise but your mic will lose performance significantly. So I've never posted here, and I'm not even sure if this is the proper place for this, but I know that most on Steam also use discord. > If Side Tone is needed (you can't your voice due closed headphones) no go further than 70%. I strongly recommend you to check the Source link to get the presets up to date, and if you are willing give them a well deserved donation. Daredevil/Potara designs the presets specifically for certain headsets: A40 Gen3, Gen3 + Modkit, Gen4, Gen4 + Modkit, A50 Gen3, Audio Technica AD700X, Hyper X Alpha.įor each preset has 3 different EQ types:ĭesign for: Flat / Natural as creators intended.ĭesign for: Music, movies, cinematic games.Īgain, these presets are not mine are from the authors.

Because not every games' sound design is recorded and formatted in the same frequency range, so this gives you options to pick which preset better suits the game you are playing (i.e. Tournament I, Tournament II, Tournament III įocus on precise sound space clarity in competitive games. This is the your universal "sound-whore" or "footstep" preset. Attention to detail in mids and highs, for audio enthusiasts. Great for cinematic/non-competitive gaming.įocus on clear audio with little bass. Similar to PureAudio, but more balanced all-around. Universal for music, movies and games for those that enjoy bass. This preset allows you to enjoy all of your audio content at the best quality possible, just as the developers intended! Because of this specific tuning developers use, some game audio quality can actually be reduced when paired with virtualized surround sound (i.e. Why specifically designed for stereo? Because majority of sound design in games are created with their own sound mix, which is tuned specially for the supported sound sources (HI-Fi, Headphones, Stereo, etc). Designed for Dolby OFF, but can still be used just fine with it (user preference). Amazing for competitive stereo gaming (footsteps, ambient ques, character shouts, etc).

The ZaliaS Guy Professional Settings PresetsĪll around gaming preset. Are definitely outstanding too, specially if you are other headsets than A40/A50 with MixAmp. UPDATE: Added Daredevil792 aka Saiyan Emperor Potara Official Presets made for specific headsets (Thanks to isidrojose for the heads up!). I suggest Tournament II, he updated recently (march) Tournament III for Apex legends. Recently Astro Forums Closed and I know many XIMers we use MixAmp, and that thread was lost.įortunately he backed up everything to GoogleDrive. I had using its presets for 8 months and are amazing. However always looking to improve, I found out a thread on Astro Forums from TheZaliaSGuy an expert audiophile (studio audio engineer, I think) who develop a fantastic Equalizer presets for this device. Well I had been using my Astro A40s MixAmp for 3 years, very pleased with its performance.
